How to: settings & permissions for auto-tracking (Android)
To set up your Android phone to work best with Driversnote, there are a few settings to keep in mind. Fortunately, they are all found in Android under Settings > Apps > Driversnote > Permissions.
Under Location you will need to make sure the setting is Allow all the time. This is crucial for the app to work properly. Remember, we do not want to and cannot track you at all times. This setting is to make sure that the app is always ready to track from the background.
On the same screen, you also need to make sure that Use precise location is turned on.
Then at Permissions again, tap Physical activity and make sure it is set to Allow. This setting is crucial for tracking your driving with motion detection but also useful when you have an iBeacon as it can help preserve your battery life by allowing the app to slow GPS reading when you are not moving.
Then, in the app, you need to go to Settings > Auto-tracking where you will find the option for either smartphone motion tracking or iBeacon tracking:
Turn on the option you need. If both are off you will only be able to track manually.
