How to: Split trips in the app
You are able to split trips in the app, as a way to edit your trip record.
This will enable you to:
- Add specific stops to your record by splitting the trip at the stop point
- Split your trips into separate parts so you can split the classification for your trip
- Split your trips into separate parts so you can delete a segment that was personal and not needed in your records.
- When you go to the All Trips tab in the app, you can scroll to any date and select any trip.
- When you have the trip you need to split, tap the new scissor icon in the top right:
- You will then be prompted to select the split point you want. This is the place where one journey will be finished and the next journey will begin:
- Tap on the map at the desired point. You can pinch to zoom in to be as precise as you need.
- When you have made that selection, you will then see nearby Saved Location pins, which you can select if they are the split destination for your trip. If you tap one of those it will become the split point.
- When you have finalised the split, tap the green button to Split Trip
- You will be asked to confirm the change. When you select Confirm the change cannot be undone.
After a moment, you will have two trips where you previously had one!

Changing the trip classification
After you have split a trip with the above steps, if you open each part of the trip you can then change the classification from Business to Personal or the reverse. This can be very helpful if a journey had several purposes, such as if you had to drop a family member somewhere then attend a worksite.
From here you can change the trip classification, change the vehicle or add a new Note that reflects the newly split journey details.
