How to: shared locations

Admins can create shared locations that are available to everyone on the team - no more drivers manually adding the same addresses over and over.

Team saved locations make tracking faster and more accurate for your team. When a team member parks within 500 meters / 0.31 miles of the address, the app automatically uses the saved location as the start or end destination of their trip instead of relying only on GPS coordinates. The saved location name will appear on the report, making trips easier to review at a glance.

How to add shared locations

  1. Go to the Team page in your Driversnote account.
  2. Select Locations from the menu.
  3. Any location you add here will automatically be shared across your team.

Import locations in bulk via CSV

If you have many locations to add, use the CSV import option:

  1. From the Locations tab on the Team page, click CSV Import.
  2. Download the template file with the Download template button.
  3. Fill in your locations using the required format - the template file looks for name, address, zip_and_city, country as separate column fields.
  4. Upload the completed file at the same screen.

Frequently asked questions

Which teams can see shared locations? Shared locations are available across your entire organisation - including all teams you've created. They're not limited to a single team.

How can drivers tell the difference between shared and personal locations? Easy - look for the team icon. Locations shared by an admin display a team icon next to them, so drivers can always distinguish them from personal locations they've added themselves.

Can drivers edit or delete shared locations? No. Only organisation admins can manage shared locations. Drivers can still create and manage their own personal locations separately.

Who can add shared locations? Only organisation admins have access to the Locations section on the Team page.

Do I have to name all the locations? You can leave the name column blank if you do not want the name of the location (and only the address). However we recommend naming them as it helps with reviewing reports.
